About Cecile Garcia

Hi! I’m Cecile Garcia. You can call me Cece.
I am a writer, copy editor, and crossword constructor with an eye for detail and an ear for voice.
As a writer with a background in science fiction, fantasy, and comedy, I approach my projects with empathy, humor, and a dash of nerdiness. I believe that science fiction sheds a light on the issues of today and helps to create solutions for the future. I love world-building with words, using the puzzle of language to connect people and create equity.
Throughout my many years living in Los Angeles, I have written pilots, spec scripts, one-act plays, and shorts. I was a finalist for the 2020 CBS Writers Mentoring Program. I was also a semi-finalist for the Women’s Weekend Film Challenge’s Pilot Accelerator as well as the Emerging Screenwriters Genre Competition.
My one-act plays “Advanced Placement” and “Til Un-Death Do We Part” featured in Los Angeles festivals. My short film “Bruce” received several festival awards. I am a graduate of the UCB Theatre improv program and am currently studying UX Design. I enjoy comedy, science fiction, fantasy, and plain, old-fashioned reality. I also love crosswords - from solving cryptics to creating my own.
I would love to connect with you.
